Yamuna - Delhi

This section contains photographs of the Yamuna River.

I have always felt that the Yamuna is one of the quieter parts of Delhi. There is something about being along its banks that makes the city feel distant — a rare kind of stillness within a place that is otherwise constantly moving.

The Yamuna was where I first began to understand what photography meant to me. Spending time there, I found myself drawn to the way light, shadow and silence could be held in a frame. It was there that I began to understand the quiet character of black and white film.

I kept returning to the river, looking again and noticing things I had missed before. Those repeated visits gave me the space to observe and experiment, and slowly understand photography in my own way.

In many ways, my relationship with photography began here.
